I'm king of the world!
Ringing in 2014, my one main running goal was a 100 mile race. I spent the final few days of December reading everything the internet had to offer on the subject. I figured - I've run a few marathons, I've coached a 5k group, I have access to the internet - I'm clearly qualified to create a 100 mile training plan.
It seems maybe I should stick to my day job. Kara and I both started following it New Year's Day, and after only a few weeks, we both had to stop training. Neither one of us will be running the race. Of course, we each had different reasons. She had to stop training due to an injury.
I stopped training due to pregnancy.
Ah, the photo! Fantastic!!!!!!!! You guys are a hoot... and of course, even though I've already told you, I'm very very very very happy for you both!
ReplyDeleteI KNEW IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations :)
ReplyDeleteZOMG
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!!! So exciting! The only downside is that now I feel guiltier about eating mass amounts of Cadbury eggs because I can't blame it on pregnancy. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you and Eric!!
ReplyDeleteWhat?! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for our babies to be god siblings :)
ReplyDeleteWe should patent and sell this training plan.
ReplyDeleteI am feeling my testimonial might net us more sales than yours.
DeleteOmgomgongomgomgomg I am sooo excited for you!!!
DeleteWell, 'prancerize pony walk' is something every training plan needs, so...
DeleteAnd congrats Alyssa!
That was Kara's contribution - we were really hoping it wouldn't go unnoticed!
DeleteCongrats!
ReplyDeleteI totally love how I was not expecting you to say that...I was waiting for injury or something like that and was totally surprised. Congratulations!!!!!!
Yay! That was my goal! Thanks!
DeleteYay! La4yeous here you come!!!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS!!! Holy cannoli, that was so unexpected! Maybe not on your end, but on mine.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! That is one of the best pictures I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! So excited for you both!
ReplyDeleteAh!! Awesome! Congratulations! :)
ReplyDeleteyay yay yay! huge congrats to you and your hubs, love the picture!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I found you through Kara and have been lurking awhile but wanted to say a big YAY for your great news. I can't wait for your sure-to-be-hilarious notes from the pregnant front lines.
ReplyDeleteOh wow. I have followed your blog for years (my sister ran one of those ultra trail marathons the same time that you did awhile back) - and I'm so cool that I don't even have a blog. :)
ReplyDeleteBut I am so so happy for you. I have thought for a long time that you and Eric would be wonderful parents! It's a life changing road for sure - I have four of my own and a few step children here as well that makes our house busy...to say the least...but it's a journey like no other.
Many congrats to you as you start on a marathon of a completely different type!
I know I already told you this, but this photo is seriously the best announcement on the face of the planet. Sure beats a pee stick :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! :-) I still think you can keep up those 2 hour prancercise sessions. So please never stop that.
ReplyDeleteSquee! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteMan I was really looking forward to your announcement with baking ingredients to put a bun in the oven, but I think this picture is much better.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I had a sneaking suspicion when you said you weren't going to run the 100 miler, but I have a ridiculous amount of pregnant and/or new mom friends right now so that's my first thought for everything. I hope you keep up the prancersizing. I bet that's how you get one of those really advanced babies.
Congrats Alyssa and Eric!
ReplyDeleteI have high hopes that you will still be able to complete your prancercise pony walk workout in mid-April.
Congratulations!!! What does your training plan for having a baby look like? I hear that race takes a lot longer than the 100.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, that is so exciting! Congratulations to you both!
