Due to the half day as a result of this ungodly heat, I got to go home to eat lunch. I took a picture of it because I felt like it was a classic "food blogger" lunch.
Now if I could learn to eat 2 teaspoons of ice cream or a single cherry for dessert, and to work my camera better, I could launch my own food blog.
I got a lot done today with the extra hours that I'd normally be at work. Got some snacks and a shirt for the 50K, cleaned the whole apartment (bedroom doesn't count, organizing mail doesn't count), cleaned my car, showered (yes this is an accomplishment) , did some baking, and made lunch/snacks for the rest of the week.
I also lost a lot of time due to stupidity. Target trip number one was a FAIL because I came from work and didn't bring any method of payment. Ya, considering I have to lock up my pencils and scissors I don't bring my purse there.
Then I couldn't find the library to pick up applications for our students. I couldn't remember which way to turn on the road it was on, so I picked one, and it was the wrong one, and I gave up and went home.
I also celebrated National Running Day with a half hour on the elliptical with Self and the new Lady Gaga cd, which I have listened to at least 17 times since my mom copied it for me on Monday. Both my parents are huge Gaga fans - probably where I get my awesomeness from. Interesting that blogger doesn't consider "awesomeness" misspelled.
There's even a song named after my favorite starbucks drink, Americano!
I really wanted to do some sort of long run or hardcore spinning class that would kick my ass, but all the energy I save today will be ready for me on Saturday....right?
I really liked Sam's suggestion of leaving a trail of chocolate behind to find our way back on the trail. But considering chocolate is my obsession and we are facing a worldwide chocolate shortage, my goal is to stockpile it, not let it melt in the woods. Maybe I'll leave a trail of something gross, like olives. Or chicken nuggets.
After my wedding I swore I'd never get another manicure. Now I remember why.
I got this on Friday. $14 well spent.
What food do you hate enough that you'd leave behind on the trail with no regrets?
Do you get manicures? How do I make them last past 4 days?
I liked Sam's suggestion too!
ReplyDeleteI hate manicures (pedicures are a different story)! It feels like my nails are suffocating.
Iced Americano (with sugar free caramel) is my Starbucks go-to :)
ReplyDeleteI feel like manicures/pedicures are a waste for me. I like to keep my nails SHORT (I'm kind of weird about it), and I never feel like they get them short enough. So I just save the money and do it myself.
The last time I got my nails done was for my wedding, 10 months ago. I never get manicures, pedis are a once in a year type deal.
ReplyDeleteI think a mushroom trail would be fine. Hate them. I guess that actually could be something growing out there though, huh?!
:)
This post is awesome for so many reasons.
ReplyDelete1. Your parents are Gaga fans! Amazing.
2. You cleaned during your time off. That is exactly what I would have done.
3. I forget where I was going with this list.
ps did you make the oreo brownie things?
Your food picture is awesome. CHERRIES! Now I want some. I totally wish they were a year-round fruit. I dig the maraschino ones, but let's face it, they're probably not as healthy.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I don't get manicures either, for the same reason! It doesn't matter if I paint my nails or if I get them done, they still only last four days at the MAX.
I'd leave raisins behind me on the trail. Ugh, so nasty.
ReplyDeleteI never do my nails for that very reason. I'm also giving up on my toes because my feet just look awful from all this running.
I go to Target all the time. It's seriously one of the only things I can do around here with the baby :)
I like the new gaga album! I got it on amazon's mp3 store for .99 last week! or was that two weeks ago...I'm losing track of time as the school year is ending.
ReplyDeleteI like iced americanos...or the double shot on ice! i don't remember what's different...milk and sweetener, and a shaker?
Not a manicure person. Last one I got was for my wedding...3 years and 10 months ago. Working with small people I have developed the habit of washing my hands frequently, so nailpolish doesn't stay on long. Plus I'm clumsy and I hit my fingers on things all the time. I don't even put nailpolish on because it bugs me when it's not even or if I chip it. I'll take a pedicure any day though!
