Things not to do the week of a marathon

1. Go visit someone with stomach flu overnight, then run a race with that person.

Sadly, check.

2. Run a combined total of 25 miles the weekend immediately prior.

Fail.

3. Introduce yourself to cake flavored vodka.

Fail.

Note - #3 is particularly dangerous if you haven't had a single dessert in three weeks, because said vodka mixed with soda water tastes like you are drinking cake.

Note - #3 is also particularly dangerous when you are at an open bar event and everything you want is completely free, and your husband is there to drive you home.

Hydration starts today. And that's all I have to say about that.

  1. Haha, cake flavored vodka sounds awesome! We should take a flask of it with us on the marathon. It will dull the pain of the hills...

  9. Same question everyone else has...does it taste like cake? Honestly? Because I could definitely start drinking more if it tasted like cake. Yum!
