Pizza beats lifting weights

Yesterday I was lamenting how un-picturesque my week had been. To rectify that situation, I went and did what is arguably the most picture - worthy activity that anyone can ever do.

Met a brand new baby.

My friend Kim had her son Jackson the day before Thanksgiving. I was dying to meet him last week, but my version of adult after school activities (Broomball, grad class, and book club) prevented me. I still got to meet him at only two weeks old, though.

He was sleeping with his tongue out, but its like he knew we were laughing and trying to take a picture.
Remember how I've skipped Body Pump twice already this week? There was a class at 6:15 last night, and I got home from my baby playtime at about 5:45. Totally could have gone (my gym is across the street).

Nope. Didn't. And I would like to state for the record, that when I slept through it yesterday morning, it wasn't one of those "I'm overtired and stayed up way too late doing work and truly need the sleep" sort of thing. I had already gotten 7 hours when the alarm went off, it just felt really good, so I decided to go for 9. Just felt like I needed to get that out there.

I redeemed myself somewhat by going to spin class at 5:45 this morning. I hadn't been to spin in forever and it felt great (after it was over).

Last night, there was no chance of the gym, so I came home, put on pjs, made Broccoli, Artichoke, Mushroom Naan White Pizza for dinner. It actually looks slightly like the picture on the website, which is why I included it. You can't go wrong with a Wegmans recipe
I had to photograph Eric's non artichoke one since mine was already half eaten
Then I ate a ton Ghirardelli chocolate squares from the Disaster 15K for dessert. And that's one reason I'm not a healthy living blogger. Another HUGE one is coming this weekend.

So, seeing my tremendous success, my mom decided gently prod her hilarious colleague to start a blog and share his talents with the world. He just started out, so check out his blog! I was pretty excited to have a non running blog to enjoy, for a little change of pace. I told him I'd try to get him some commenters so don't make me a liar. My mom also named it, so you know it has to be good.

  1. That pizza looks good enough to excuse the usage of broccoli.

You look good holding a baby. :)

  2. I love artichokes! I want that pizza, but with sauce on it. I know that would make it a non-white pizza, but the sauce is my favorite part.

Haha..."You look good holding a baby". Someone told me that recently and I just had to laugh. I think that's people's way of saying, "you need to have a baby" and I'm obviously not in a situation to do that currently.

Also, I totally wish someone could hold me like that in their arms while I sleep. Unfortunately it would have to be a giant with really long arms and I don't know any of those.

  4. I basically make pizza out of anything (wraps, bagels, dough, tortillas) but I never thought of naan. Sounds genius. I have gone way too long without holding a baby. Adorable!

  5. Eating chocolate squares is totally healthy. I mean, look at how healthy I am. You could be a healthy living blogger...I mean...except that you'd rather blog about broomball and ultras.

  6. That pizza looks delicious! Whoa! I tried my first spin class this week and it was fine. Tolerable. I got a good workout in, but I kept looking at the clock waiting for it to end. Ha.

  10. That pizza looks great! Making me hungry! I love holding babies when they are that little but I'd never know what to do with them if they were here. Clueless.

  11. Hahaha, I love Kara's attempt at subtle peer pressure! What does it mean to look good holding a baby? You aren't terrified and about to drop it?
