Yesterday, I swam before work, and then biked and ran after work. See, I even got all the sports in the right order. I thought it was the first time that I'd ever done all three during training but then I remembered I've done two swim/bike/run events that the triathlon club has hosted. Still, those felt more like races, they even had transition areas set up and everything. So, this was the first time I just did one on my own/with my training buddy.
Lily and I did a loop of the BWI trail (plus a little extra to make it a full 15 miles) last night, followed by a 30 minute run. I think I need to man up and run a little faster on these bricks, even though I'm tired because it's past my bedtime. It's only 3 miles or so.
By the time I got home it was around 9pm, and I needed to leave by 5:10 am to get to Lily's to run the following day. As I whined about yesterday, that really isn't enough sleep for me, but I only have 2.5 days to go until spring break, so I guess I can pull through. Obviously I didn't waste any precious sleep time on showering at night, so that helped.
As usual, I don't have any pictures, so I'll share this one of two of my favorite things ever combined.
Blurry, yet awesome. |
That is the best "Hey Girl" I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteAgain, I can't believe you don't shower before bed. Jeff would kick me out of bed. He won't even sit next to me if I haven't showered after a run. :)
Ugh, I literally groaned out loud at the lack of shower thing! I'm so anal about showering after workouts :)
ReplyDeletePS I'd be happy to even run at a 9:30 pace so nice work!
These people are funny. Last night I was so tired and feeling like crap after spin, and by the time I got home I wasn't sweaty anymore, so I went to bed without showering. BAM, confession revealed.
ReplyDeleteThe real triple brick is bike-run-bike-run-bike-run.
ReplyDeleteLET'S DO ONE. OR FIVE.
I'm tired just thinking about your workout...then again, I'm really just tired in general right now.
ReplyDeleteThat is an awesome Hey Girl.
I'm on team gotta-shower, otherwise I smell like a wildebeast.
ReplyDeleteIf I only sweat a tad, I won't shower (like after barre class) but if I run I have to shower. I sweat like a man (hot) and feel salty!
ReplyDeleteBest Hey Girl I've ever seen. If the sweat dries then I'll go to bed. Not regularly, but it's not the end of the world. I would never, ever get in bed with wet sweat though. Ewww.
ReplyDeleteAwesome workouts yesterday!
I've totally skipped the shower when I'm too tired....but only if I'm dry. Apparently, we're the stinky ones of the bunch - or the truly dedicated as I prefer to view it. :P
ReplyDeleteI totally skip the shower after night workouts if I'm going to work out again in the morning. Hubs doesn't even mind, he kinda likes my stink (he's as weird as I am!). Love that hey girl, too funny!
ReplyDeleteNow that's a workout! I'm pretty sure we've both gone to bed without showering after sweating at some point during the day.
ReplyDeleteI think slow morning miles are justified when you swam, biked, and ran the previous day, with your last run being only 9 hours earlier!!
ReplyDeleteReading about your triple brick day makes me tired.
I skipped on showering before bed last night, but I only ran 2 really easy miles with Dan before. I'm not sure if I even sweat that much.
I will admit to having not showered before bed a few times before...I'm not proud of it. But a couple times I have sat around after running, forgot that I sweat a lot earlier, then it's already bed time and too late to shower. I do usually change the sheets the next day if I do that though. I don't know if that makes it any better.
