Three Tangent Tuesday

I decided to follow Hungry Runner Girl's idea, because its fun. So here are three random facts about me.

1. I consider myself a fairly cheerful person, but I HATE when people walk by me and tell me to smile. Especially when it's a random stranger. My smiles are precious and I'll give them out when I'm good and ready, dammit.

2. I prefer my cake with double frosting, and actually you can just keep the cake. At birthday parties Eric and I separate our cake from frosting and then exchange, so I get all the frosting and he gets all the cake. I'd rather just dig into the can with a spoon and cut out the middle man.

You can't really tell, but he's feeding me all frosting. I didn't marry no fool.

3. As much as I love food, I would rather do anything else on earth than clean the refrigerator. When I used to work at Starbucks, I would offer to clean the bathroom before wiping out the milk fridges. It just grosses me out.

Tuesday is a speedwork day, but we are supposed to get freezing rain tonight, and the track is still frozen anyway. So I hit the treadmill for 8x800s (1/2 mile intervals) at between 10K and 5K pace. I ran about 6 miles in all, then did a little hip weight stuff and 20 minutes on the bike to account for the fact that I would normally be actually up and walking around, instead of sitting on my derriere the entire day. I just included the word derriere because Matt Lauer said it this morning.

I baked some fresh bread this morning and now the apartment smells like fresh bread - heaven. Sadly its a mess, and despite a whole day of sitting around I am writing this blog post instead of cleaning. Laziness is so wonderful.

  2. As far back as I can remember -- which is first grade -- I have never, ever eaten the sponge/bread part of cakes. Frosting only, thank you very much! It must be a runner thing...frosting is fuel!

  3. I love that you and your hubby have a cake/frosting exchange. I'm all about buttercream frosting!

My husband made bread in our breadmaker on Sunday, it smelled great!

I know you posted before about loving Bruegger's bagels... I saw there's a coupon for some free Bruegger's bagels if you like them on fb. Not sure that it makes it worth the 90 minute drive to your local Bruegger's, but if you find yourself in the area... http://fb.zip2.it/coupon

We got freezing rain up here in NJ today/tonight too. Doesn't seem to be bad enough (yet) I wouldn't mind a delay tomorrow morning though...
